Build a Bear with the Birthday Boy Alexander

I don't know how many of you have "Build a Bear" but it really is quite a cute store. My cute little neighbor is turning 3 and I wanted to do something special with him. I decided to take him to "Build a Bear" just to see how he would react since I wasn't sure if this was the right age for him. He loved the store but I still wasn't sure if this was going to be the right birthday gift. To my great surprise he mentioned the Store again and I thought, "okay this is the place". We got to the store and he picked out his bear right away. A boy after my own heart, anyone that really knows me knows that I don't like to shop.
He was a little confused on why we would just pick up a bear that had no stuffing in it. In fact it "freaked" the poor kid out. He refused to watch the lady use the machine to stuff the bear full. He wanted nothing to do with the different sounds you could put in your bear if you choose. And when it came to picking out the "heart" he wouldn't turn his head. At this point I thought to myself that I had made a big mistake by bringing a 3 year old. However, to my great surprise after the bear was stuffed and sewn up Alexander was ready to do the rest. He loved the bath and combed the bear while talking to it. Picking out the clothes was pretty exciting as he couldn't decide on what he wanted more. However, when he saw the "fishing" outfit he threw everything else down and that was it.
Next came naming your bear and getting a birth certificate. I kept asking Alexander what his Bear's name was and it sounded like he said "todder", after asking him to repeat it several times I finally decided he meant "Todd". The bear was then named "Todd the Bear". It wasn't until later that I put him in his car seat that he said the Bear's name more clearly "Father". Yes, this cute kid named his bear "Father Bear". Now part of me would like to think that I had something to do with this as I have been teaching him the song "Once Upon a Time...Three Bears" (most of you will remember this song from girls camp). However, the truth is and will always be that he loves his daddy and I think he named his bear after the Father who takes him fishing whenever he can.
So, I would like to introduce you to the Birthday Boy Alexander and his new best friend "Father Bear".
