Recently I moved my records to a Family ward, it was time for a change. Let's be honest after being in a singles ward for 19 years I think I have earned myself a break. Various things have come to pass that makes me realize the great differences in a singles ward vs. a family ward, and I am not talking about the obvious differences either. However, I will put those stories on hold for a later post.
As soon as I met the Bishop the first question he asked was, "do you like kids"? My response, "yes, I like kids I have 12 nieces and nephews, I'm a very proud Aunt". So my realization of a calling in Primary was pretty clear. However, to my great surprise when the 1st Counselor extended the calling for the "Unemployment Specialist" and expressed to me that the Bishop felt great inspiration for me to be in this calling I realized one of two things...
1. I will be losing my job once again and the Lord is preparing me.
or
2. The Lord had purpose and reason behind those many difficult years of struggling through finding the right job, interviewing, re-doing the resume, and searching the Internet for just the right position.
I would like to thing option 2 is the reason, as I don't want to lose my job. :) Either way I was nervous but I accepted the calling last night and I am actually looking forward to seeing what I can do to help and assist other where I feel like I am a pro. Okay...maybe not a pro...but I definitely have experience.

That is great J! You will be great at that. The Lord prepares us. I loved my switch to the family ward. It felt like the right place when I got there.

i'd like to say #2 is the reason. :)
Hey JJ,
Maurine told me you've moved into the ward. I LOVE that ward. Some of my favorite people are in that ward. You'll see us there next time we we are home. I think I heard you bought a house too. That's great! Come see us in Virginia! It's beautiful. Keep in touch.
