A Birthday Party for Alexander and a Concussion for Mommy

Alexander was having his first "real" Birthday party with friends and I wanted it to be special. My Mom always made our Birthday parties special and I just wanted the same for him. I also knew that Alexander was old enough to have memories of this Birthday. We rented out our Club House and knowing how crazy Saturday (the day of the party was going to be) I decided to head over and start decorating on Friday Night.
So Alexander and I started putting up the streamers...after that it all goes blank. Why? Well apparently I decided to fall off the chair, hit my head, and not remember anything else except little pieces of memory here and there. I remember seeing the phone fly out of my hand. The next memory is locking up the club house, and the last memory I have is standing in front of our blue couch. After that it all goes blank.
After talking to Zac, Alexander, and Marilyn my friend who was on the phone with I think it went something like this.
I fell, Alexander gave me the phone and I told Marilyn that I just hit my head and I feel weird. I told her I wanted to go home but I couldn't remember where I live. She kept asking me questions but I kept telling her "it was ok". Then I make it home and Marilyn calls me back she could tell that something was really wrong and asked me what Zac's phone number was. She called Zac and then he called me. I just was crying and it sounded a little crazy. He then called the neighbors who came over to check on me and then they called 911. I got a ride in the ambulence and made it right in to the emergency room while many had to wait in line. The next memory I have is being in the hospital with Zac next to me in the hall. The Doctor came to release us but I couldn't tell you what he said. We then made it home and I was asleep in my bed. I kept asking a million questions and Zac said it was as if I had short term memory asking the same question over and over again. I guess he got a taste of what life is going to be like with me when I am 90 years old.
After the CAT scan the Doctor told us I had a concussion, he said that the fall is wiped from my memory, and that my brain was going to keep trying to put it together but would stop after a little bit. Well it finally has slowed down, but our minds are interesting thing. It just keeps trying to put the puzzle pieces together and it's hard. It's like having a headache on top of a headache.
However, THE BIRTHDAY MUST GO ON...AND IT DID! Thanks to my wonderful husband and amazing sister Amber Alexander got a wonderful Birthday and I was able to feel like I did not fail as a mother.

The Transformer cake! I know that my sister's would put me to shame as I did not make the cake but I guess I should be happy since I fell on my head.

The Water balloon toss...it was a huge success and these two cute girls won!

The water slide came together, and cooled everyone off. To bad we didn't have better success keeping it down.

The party ended off this and Tammy, Greg, and Emma were kind enough to stick around to help clean up. The party was a success and Mommy went home to take some strong meds to keep her asleep the rest of the evening. :) Daddy did a great job!

I'm so glad you are okay. I'm sure that was a very wierd experience. Ric's cousin's wife fell off a stool while hanging streamers for her kid's party. She broke BOTH wrists, AND she had newborn twins to take care of.

Looks like a fun party, good mamma!

Worrying and thinking about you, hermana!

Un beso,

You were also swearing profusely, my first clue that you were not right. I know you occasionally slip one out, but not like that.

Glad you are doing better.

Love YOU.
