Alexander reading his scriptures...

I was talking to my Mom on the phone, and Alexander wanted my attention. I am trying to teach him not to interrupt. So finally he decided to pass the time by reading his new scripture story book. I was so proud of him as I listened to him read, I ran upstairs and grabbed the camera. Of course, I took too long so when I came down with the camera he was tired and didn't want to read anymore. I had to beg him...but he did it.

1st I am proud of our little one, because as much as I want to give him credit for us teaching him how to read...he really did it on his own. I can thank Kerstin and Gary for giving Alexander their smart genes.

2nd I am proud that he likes his new Bible scripture stories, and I know it's helping him understand our Heavenly Father and Jesus.

Impressed! We can't see Alex very well on our computer so Tyler turned to me all excited and said "Mom, is that me?" He thought he was reading and was proud of himself:) Both boys thought it was neat that he was reading. Keep it up Alex!

yay! that is soooo great! really, great. beyond his ability to sound of the words, his ablity to (1) tell what he is reading about and (2) ask questions about what he is reading ("is that good or bad?") is quite promising because he is showing development summary and comprehension skills.

okay, the ex-English teacher will be quiet. :)

yay, alex! FANTASTIC!
