Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving 2010 was not what was the original plan, as we were planning to go home to Oregon. However, due to Zac's position as a Supervisor he had to work on Thanksgiving. So we made the best of it and here is some of the fun we had...

I have never made homemade rolls, I think I am afraid of yeast...so thanks to Tammy who gave me a fairly easy recipe I did my best with Alexander's help.

He's a great helper in the kitchen

our dough

It took awhile to rises but it finally did.

Alexander helped me roll little balls and then we placed them in cupcake pans

Here they are...I was quite proud for my first attempt. Of course I had one little mistake...no salt. Can you believe it...I forgot the salt. They tasted great...just a little bland.

Next attempt was apple pie. I had my little helper and he was a big boy and helped the whole time.

Alexander having a roll that he helped make

Since Daddy had to work until 6:30 pm we decided to have our own Thanksgiving fun during Zac's lunch break at Intel.

Some play football, we play badminton

Daddy against Mommy and Alexander was the judge....you can guess that Zac won but only because boys always win in our home. :(

Here is our lovely meal

Our Thanksgiving Group: Alexander, Zac, myself, Karin Gonda (old roommate), Clint (Zac's hometeaching partner) We kind of set them up on a blind date for Thanksgiving...silly we know... but we had a great Thanksgiving...

We even had two of our favorite Missionaries who helped in getting Zac baptized stop by and visit us. They currently are attending BYU-Idaho.

Happy late Thanksgiving. The rolls look great, and I'm so happy to hear someone else besides me is terrified of yeast. You're one step ahead of me! :)

Hey you did it!!! I'm wishing I had some of those rolls right now! Forgetting salt is no big deal when there is butter and or jam! Way to go. Love you. we missed having you but I'm glad that you played some badmitton--you know I love that game.
