Okay...I'm new at this...so when do you start to Christmas shop? I'm starting to see sales come out and I am thinking "okay, this is it" but my wonderful husband said to me this morning "no, you don't shop now you wait until the deals come out at the last minute".
Well, that doesn't work for me because I am not a last minute shopper. Besides I don't know who has the best deals. Toys R Us has a big sale today and tomorrow...but are they good to shop with?
Besides...Alexander has not really said what he really wants. I sat down with him when the Walmart add came out and I told him to pick one item on the page that he really wanted. By the end of the ad he had circled everything. So...I am back to square one.
When does one start shopping for Christmas????

I am with you...in fact...I'm done with Mackenzie...now Dave and the rest of my family...I go along and sometimes it's the week of Christmas when I finish but when I see the SALE for Mackenzie...I pounce on it!! :) Have fun sweet friend!
Well, ya see JJ - I am a Roderick a product of ROMA RODERICK!!! LOL I Dislike Dislike DISLIKE shopping.. Since I live in my little super tiny town I don't 90% of my shopping on line because I can get Free shipping this time of year - I also can get Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals online... So my items already come boxed - I get good deals and I don't tend to OVER SHOP and Impulse buy like I do in the stores... Just my take on Holiday shopping.. :) Miss you Newells!!!
I am up for shopping at anytime! Ithink the really good deals are Thanksgiving weekend, but lots of stores are trying to get you to shop earlier so they start their sales early. You are lucky Alexandar is still small enough to want everything. If he wanted just that one toy that you could not find, that would be a pain! If you need clothes, I have a good Old Navy coupon for this weekend. We have been watching for good prices on video games etc and so far we think WalMart will be the best deal, but are waiting for Thanksgiving. Have fun!!
NOW. If you find a better deal later, you can always return the original item.
I agree with all of the statements. Remember this too though-- when do YOU want to start? Since it's your life and your Christmas, you get to decide what you want. :)
but a hat tip to tammy for her "buy it now, return it if you find it cheaper" guidance.
With kids this is so tricky. I think it depends a lot on the kid and on their age. In the past I have shopped too early for Anna. Bought things she said she wanted only to get closer to Christmas and have totally changed her mind, and certain that Santa is going to bring something that I don't have. So with her I have learned to wait a little. It also doesn't bother me to shop closer to Christmas, but I have the luxury of shopping during the day. So, in the end, you gotta do what you gotta do :) I also think there are sales on toys, but those big sales are only on hot items that my kid really isn't into yet, so I don't worry about catching the big sale. Good Luck
