Repenting

Okay so last Sunday I had a very productive morning with lots of bursting energy and I ran around the house getting all kinds of things done. One of those things to get done was make cookies that I would take to those I visit teach. Accept every time I came back into the kitchen more dough would be eaten and cookies would disappear. I yelled at my two boys to stay away from the cookies...I had just enough to get everyone taken care of.
Fast forward to church...
We are sitting there and they are passing the Sacrament, and Alexander keeps talking. So I remind him several times to be quite. Finally I whisper, "Alexander it's time to think of Jesus and what he did for us. During this time you can say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father to forgive us for our sins". Alexander looks at me and immediately folds his arms and says, "I am going to say a prayer right now because I took a cookie and hid it when no one was looking I ate it".

Well...at least he listened....right?!? :)

Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving 2010 was not what was the original plan, as we were planning to go home to Oregon. However, due to Zac's position as a Supervisor he had to work on Thanksgiving. So we made the best of it and here is some of the fun we had...

I have never made homemade rolls, I think I am afraid of yeast...so thanks to Tammy who gave me a fairly easy recipe I did my best with Alexander's help.

He's a great helper in the kitchen

our dough

It took awhile to rises but it finally did.

Alexander helped me roll little balls and then we placed them in cupcake pans

Here they are...I was quite proud for my first attempt. Of course I had one little mistake...no salt. Can you believe it...I forgot the salt. They tasted great...just a little bland.

Next attempt was apple pie. I had my little helper and he was a big boy and helped the whole time.

Alexander having a roll that he helped make

Since Daddy had to work until 6:30 pm we decided to have our own Thanksgiving fun during Zac's lunch break at Intel.

Some play football, we play badminton

Daddy against Mommy and Alexander was the judge....you can guess that Zac won but only because boys always win in our home. :(

Here is our lovely meal

Our Thanksgiving Group: Alexander, Zac, myself, Karin Gonda (old roommate), Clint (Zac's hometeaching partner) We kind of set them up on a blind date for Thanksgiving...silly we know... but we had a great Thanksgiving...

We even had two of our favorite Missionaries who helped in getting Zac baptized stop by and visit us. They currently are attending BYU-Idaho.

Primary Talent Show 2010

Many might remember our Primary Talent show last year Zac and Alexander played a drum duet. This year Alexander was ready to do it on his own with two drums. He did great, and he is just getting better each year.

Here is Alexander practicing before everyone comes.

Proud Alexander.

Abby and Alexander. When we arrived at the church Abby was telling her Mom that she wanted to dance for the talent show. So I mentioned that she could dance while Alexander played the drums.

Here is the event... I was up there getting him ready to play the pattern he had practiced

He was having the time of his life.

When to Christmas Shop

Okay...I'm new at this...so when do you start to Christmas shop? I'm starting to see sales come out and I am thinking "okay, this is it" but my wonderful husband said to me this morning "no, you don't shop now you wait until the deals come out at the last minute".

Well, that doesn't work for me because I am not a last minute shopper. Besides I don't know who has the best deals. Toys R Us has a big sale today and tomorrow...but are they good to shop with?

Besides...Alexander has not really said what he really wants. I sat down with him when the Walmart add came out and I told him to pick one item on the page that he really wanted. By the end of the ad he had circled everything. So...I am back to square one.

When does one start shopping for Christmas????

HALLOWEEN 2010

Halloween was on Sunday so what better to celebrate at Trunk or Treat at church. Here is our scary trunk with Halloween music playing in the back ground and all. There is our little Green Hulk, and boy did he love the fun. Our ward did an amazing job with dinner, cupcake walk, and a bouncing thing. The kids had a great time.

We had a great evening, thanks to Julie and her hard work to bring us together.
